Mail google account recovery

Go to the Google Account Recovery Page

Open a web browser and go to the Google Account Recovery page: https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery.

Enter Your Email or Phone Number

You’ll be prompted to enter the email address or phone number associated with the account you want to recover. If you’ve forgotten your email address, you can click on the “Forgot email?” link. Follow the prompts to either retrieve your email or proceed with your recovery.

Prove You’re Not a Robot

Google will ask you to complete a CAPTCHA to prove you’re not a bot. This usually involves selecting pictures or checking a box to confirm “I’m not a robot.”

Enter the Last Password You Remember

Next, you will be asked to enter the last password you used for the account. If you can’t remember it, click on the link that says “Try another way.”

Receive a Verification Code

Google will offer to send a verification code to your recovery email or phone number if you’ve previously set one up. Select the option that works for you, and enter the verification code once you receive it. If you don’t have access to these recovery options, click on “Try another way” to move to the next step.

Answer Security Questions (If Applicable)

If you had set up security questions in your Google account, you may be prompted to answer them. Ensure your answers are as accurate as possible. If you’re unable to answer, choose “Try another way” to continue.

Use a Backup Email or Phone (If Applicable)

If you don’t have access to the primary recovery method, Google may offer to send a code to your backup email address or phone number, if one was set up previously. Check your email or phone for the code, and enter it in the required field.

Provide Additional Information

In some cases, Google might ask for additional details such as the approximate month or year when you created your account. If you don’t remember the exact date, try to provide your best estimate.

Reset Your Password

After successfully verifying your identity, Google will prompt you to reset your password. Choose a strong password that includes a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols to ensure it’s secure. Make sure you don’t reuse an old password.

Check Your Account for Suspicious Activity

Once you’ve regained access to your account, check your recent activity for any suspicious logins or actions. This can help you determine whether your account was compromised. If anything looks off, you may need to update your security settings or report the issue to Google.

Additional Tips:

  • Set Up a Recovery Email or Phone Number: To make future account recovery easier, ensure you have a backup email and phone number associated with your account.
  • Enable Two-Step Verification (2FA): This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification, such as an SMS code or Google Authenticator app.
  • Use a Password Manager: Consider using a password manager to keep track of your passwords securely.

If the steps above don’t work, you can seek more help by visiting Google’s Help Center at https://support.google.com/accounts.
